To help fight the city’s novel coronavirus outbreak, a team of military medical workers were recently dispatched to the Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center. Among them is Captain Kim Hye-ju, who has had to wear protective masks so often lately that the bridge of her nose has developed an abrasion wound. She constantly wears a band-aid to protect against the mask’s friction. An image of Kim with a band-aid on her nose has since gone viral on society media as people around the country express their support for medical personnel in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, which have seen the worst of South Korea’s novel coronavirus outbreak.
