The metropolitan government of Ulsan will provide a basic disaster allowance of 100,000 won (US$81) to all elementary, middle school, and high school students residing in the city. The measure is designed to take some of the burden off parents as classes continue to be substituted by remote learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Ulsan Mayor Song Cheol-ho announced the measure during a press conference on Apr. 23. The measure covers 441 schools and 151,412 students.
