South Korea’s public mask rationing system, which provides a set number of publicly distributed masks at designated vendors according to a strict schedule, is set to end on July 12. This means that vendors that were not designated beforehand, such as convenience stores, will be allowed to sell KF94 and KF80 masks on an unlimited basis. On July 7, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced that publicly distributed masks will be available on an unlimited basis from July 8 to July 11, adding that the public rationing system was being terminated as the country’s supply of masks has stabilized.
