Seoul community centers for senior citizens that had been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic are starting to reopen. However, facilities are only admitting half the normal capacity and only operating for four hours per day. On Aug. 2, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it would be reopening 3,467 senior citizen community centers throughout the city in phases based on guidelines from the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH), starting Aug. 3. Centers will only operate, however, from 1 to 5 pm.
