Seven members of the Youth Progressive Party staged a surprise protest Tuesday at the Seoul office of the state-run Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) over its employees’ engagement in land speculation. They held signs that read “Give up your land and go to prison” and “Punish LH employees and confiscate their land.” The protestors also demanded a meeting with the general manager of the Seoul office.
Meanwhile, detectives from the anti-corruption and economic crimes division of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency conducted raids on the same day at the head office of LH in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, and the company’s regional offices in Incheon and Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province.
