Campaign Headquarters for 2021 Tuition Reimbursement, an association of university student councils and other groups, held a “three steps, one bow” march Sunday from Gyeongbokgung Station in Seoul to a community center in front of the Blue House to demand tuition fee refunds over online learning.

The participants, who marched in two groups of 14 people, claimed that “college students are enraged,” as “recorded lectures from last year are recycled and freshman life has disappeared.” According to the headquarters, over 12,000 college students have signed a petition calling for a refund of tuition fees since March 2.

They also called for immediate action from the South Korean government, saying, “President Moon, Education Minister Yoo Eun-hae, please listen to us college students. We need tuition refunds now more than ever.”

The march was held in compliance with COVID-19 distancing rules.
