North Korea’s held a mass gymnastics performance as part of the welcome reception for South Korean President Moon Jae-in during the Pyongyang summit at Rungrado 1st of May Stadium on Sept. 19. While similar performances were seen on Sept. 9, when North Korea celebrates the foundation of its government, the performance for Moon was slightly edited.

Although phrases like “our great fatherland” were still used, most of the content that could be seen as controversial, politically provocative or offensive to South Korean conservatives was omitted. Instead of North Korean patriotism, the performance focused more on concepts related to peace, unity and a new era. The above photos show an image of a train marked Pyongyang-Busan, symbolizing a straight, uninterrupted journey through a united Korea, as well as a performance symbolizing open skies and land.
