The US State Department announced that the meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at Panmunjom on June 30 was not a summit. “It wasn’t a summit, it wasn’t a negotiation; it was a meeting of two leaders,” said US State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus in a press briefing on July 9. Therefore, if the US and North Korea succeed on arranging another summit between Trump and Kim, it will officially be their third.
