North Korea fired gunshots across the DMZ at a South Korean guard post on May 3. The gunshire did not result in any casualties or serious damage to the guard post. South Korean soldiers briefly fired back, according to military authorities. The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) confirmed that four bullet marks were made on the guard post’s wall. South Korean troops sent a warning broadcast before returning fire. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told American journalists the shots were believed to be “accidental.” (provided by environmental activist Seo Jae-cheol)
