South Korea saw the greatest volume of e-commerce in 2019, reaching record levels as of November by surpassing 12 trillion won (US$10.27 billion). The food delivery industry also surpassed 1 trillion won (US$856.16 million) for the first time. Data released by Statistics Korea shows that e-commerce in South Korea increased by 10.2% compared to last year, while food delivery transactions, boosted by a new generation of mobile apps, increased by a whopping 100.3%.
