A weekly radio show featuring K-pop charts is set to hit the radio waves in the US.

Korean music startup Space Oddity announced Thursday that “K-pop Radar,” a weekly trending chart show it’s creating with global media company 88rising, will be getting a slot on the largest satellite radio channel in North America, Sirius XM, starting this week.

“K-pop Radar” will use data from global music streaming platforms, rather than domestic ones. Although 90% of K-pop consumption is done abroad, there has been no chart that reflects this until now.

In addition, the chart reflects the actual composition of K-pop fandom by keeping tabs on figures such as YouTube music video views, social media followers such as on Twitter and Instagram, and Spotify followers.

The chart will be broadcast every Thursday (local time) from 8 pm to 9 pm on Sirius XM's 88rising radio channel. The chart can also be checked on the show’s website (kpop-radar.com) and on Twitter every Friday.

The recording of the K-Pop Radar program will take place in Seoul. Singer Jamie (Park Ji-min), who rose to prominence on the audition program “K-Pop Star” (SBS) and has been active as an MC for the K-pop talk show “After School Club” (Arirang TV), will be hosting the program.
