President Moon Jae-in leaves a showing of the film, “Taxi Driver,” with Edeltraut Brahmstaedt at the Yongsan CGV on August 13th. The film tells the story of Brahmstaedt’s husband, German journalist Jurgen Hinzpeter, who reported on the May 18th Gwangju Democratic movement. Hinzpeter relied on the services of a Korean taxi driver to avoid police blockades in order to document the events taking place in the city. For his efforts, he was commemorated with a shrine in the Gwangju Democracy Park.
