The city of Busan is bidding to host the World Expo in 2030. The world expo is a sort of international Olympics for technology, industry, and economics. The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy announced on May 14 that it had submitted its proposal for Busan hosting the 2030 World Expo to the National Assembly, officially making the bid a national project. The city has been pushing to host the expo since 2014. Competition to host the expo is expected from countries like France, Russia, and Azerbaijan.
