Hyundai Motorsports won its first manufacturers’ title at the 2019 World Rally Championship (WRC) on Nov. 13, becoming the first South Korean team to win a title in a major international motor sports event. Standing next to Formula One among the world’s most prestigious car racing events, the WRC has vehicles race on both paved and unpaved roads, making it the ultimate all-around test in vehicle performance. Hyundai and its i20 Coupe beat defending champion Toyota. The season’s final rally in Australia, which had been scheduled for Nov. 14-17, was canceled due to bushfires.
