The US Army has restricted travel for all its service members and their families to and from South Korea. US Forces Korea (USFK) has halted all new assignments for its troops in the country, announcing that it has ordered a suspension in travel “all Army soldiers and family members moving to or from South Korea or soldiers scheduled to attend professional military education in the United States due to COVID-19 concerns.” Military observers are waiting to see how the decision affects USFK’s overseas rotational deployments. “The Army’s order is in effect immediately through May 6, 2020, or until further notice,” the USFK added.
