[Photo] IMD ranks S. Korea 23rd in global competitiveness

In its annual global competitiveness rankings, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) of Switzerland has ranked South Korea 23rd out of 63 nations, bumping it up five spots from last year. The rankings include the OECD countries as well as developing nations, and uses criteria such as economic prosperity, infrastructure, and government and corporate efficiency. South Korea ranked as high as 22nd from 2011 to 2013, and was as low as 41st in 1999.
