With South Korea’s election only weeks away and candidates having yet to make their stances on nuclear power clear, an association of anti-nuclear groups has launched a survey asking Koreans if they would support a nuclear plant being put up in their neighborhood.

A representative of the group said, “Currently, because the nuclear plants in operation in South Korea are located outside of the greater Seoul area and other metropolitan areas, a majority of Koreans are unable to recognize the risks these plants pose, and do not comprehend the gravity of problems like nuclear waste.”

To kick off the survey, the association held an event in Seoul Plaza on Monday. The group will be collecting answers from Koreans around Seoul until Friday.

We’ve collected a few photos from the kick-off of their event on Monday.
