Arabs living in Korea and members of 28 labor and civil society groups in solidarity with Palestine gathered together in front of the Israeli Embassy in South Korea located in the Jongno District of Seoul on Monday, where they condemned Israel’s full-scale ground invasion of Palestine.

In a statement, the groups, which included the Association of Physicians for Humanism and Nanum Munhwa, stated that “Palestinians are facing genocide and ethnic cleansing,” arguing that Israel’s “ground invasion must be stopped immediately.”

Saying that the death toll among Palestinians had surpassed 8,000, those gathered asked, “Why is it that Palestinians must leave their homes? The only ones who should be leaving Palestinian land are the Israeli soldiers, and the only thing that should disappear is the Israeli occupation.”

Referencing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s comment on Saturday that Israel has the “most moral army in the world,” Choi Kyu-jin, the secretary general of the Association of Physicians for Humanism, said, “The number of people killed by the world’s ‘most moral military’ has exceeded 8,000.”

“Palestinians are writing their names on their arms every day so that they aren’t buried in a mass grave without being identified,” she said with dismay.
