The daughter of a man who died as a result of torture by martial law forces during the Gwangju Democratization Movement engaged in traditional dance to commemorate her father on May 18, the 40th anniversary of the movement. Kim Seon-jeong father Kim Seong-chan, a member of civil militia, died in 1982 as a result of the torture he endured during the movement. The photo shows Kim dancing during the ceremony marking the movement’s 40th anniversary in front of the former South Jeolla Provincial Government Office in Gwangju.
