South Korean pastor Lee Dong-hwan faces excommunication after attending a queer culture festival in 2019 and supporting gay rights. The Korean Methodist Church’s regulations stipulate that a pastor or priest cannot “support or facilitate activities involving gambling, illicit drugs, or homosexuality.” The Korean Methodist Church claims that Lee violated these regulations when he attended a queer festival in Incheon on Aug. 31, 2019, and has since demanded that Lee submit an official report explaining his behavior and explicitly specifying whether or not he supports homosexuality (provided by Jupiter).
