In response to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the Seoul Capital Area (SCA), the city of Seoul has encouraged residents to take part in the “emergency pause of 10 million people,” a campaign that encourages people to abide by social distancing measures until the end of the year. The city is already in the midst of applying Level 2 measures, which will now be enhanced to prohibit assemblies of 10 persons or more and reduce operation of public transportation. The city even hung a massive banner on the facade of the Seoul Metropolitan Library on Nov. 25 to promote the campaign, which is set to last until Dec. 31.
