Pope Francis has sent a message to South Korean Cardinal Andrew Yeom Soo-jung that he is praying for permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula. The Archdiocese of Seoul announced on Nov. 26 that Pope Francis and Cardinal Pietro Parolin of the Vatican sent a message to Cardinal Yeom and the DMZ Peace Pilgrimage of Youth, an annual pilgrimage that takes young Catholics from around along a path that stretches from Paju, Gyeonggi Province, to Goseong, Gangwon Province, in the name of peace on the Korean Peninsula. This year’s pilgrimage completed in August and attracted over 100 participants.
