On July 3, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un held a Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) politburo meeting on COVID-19 for the first time in three months. During the meeting, Kim called for “maximum alert” against the spread of COVID-19, warning of an “unimaginable and irretrievable crisis” if measures are relaxed too soon. North Korea still maintains that it has had no cases of COVID-19, but the politburo meeting suggests otherwise. (KCNA/Yonhap News)
