[Photo] Hyundai, Naver pledge to contribute to S. Korea’s Green New Deal and Digital New Deal

After South Korean President Moon Jae-in and the Blue House announced plans for the Korean New Deal on July 14, Chung Eui-sun, executive vice chairman of the Hyundai Motor Group, and Naver CEO Han Seong-sook announced their own plans for the Green New Deal and the Digital New Deal, respectively, during a videoconference with Cho Jeong-sik, chief policymaker of the Democratic Party and head of the Korean New Deal initiative. Chung revealed plans to create 23 models of electric cars by 2025 that can be fully charged within 20 minutes and travel over 450km on a fully charged battery. Han pledged to develop AI and data technology that will “contribute to [South Korea’s] social development.”
