Protestors along a water breaker in Gangjeong Village, Jeju Island protest the construction of a naval base in the area. The protests have been going on for six years. At the end of 2012, the National Assembly passed the budget for construction of the base on the condition that construction be halted for a 70 day investigation. However, the Ministry of Defense intends to continue with construction during the investigation. The flags in this photo symbolize resistance to the base after six years.
