After 40 years, operations at the Kori Nuclear Power Plant Reactor 1 were permanently shut down on June 18. After a five-year cooling period, demolition on the reactor is scheduled to begin in 2022. In this photo, Greenpeace used lasers to project Korean text meaning, “So long, Kori 1” on the exterior wall of the reactor, June 18. (by Kim Myoung-jin, staff photographer)
