A march calling for the dismantlement of all nuclear power plants and facilities as well as the safe disposal of nuclear waste took off in front of the Hanbit Power Plant in South Jeolla Province on June 23. The march, which is being referred to as a “pilgrimage,” is expected to reach Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Plaza on Aug. 25. Despite the recent rise in temperature, march participants continue their journey to call for an end to nuclear power plant construction. The march launched in June 2013 and takes place every summer and winter for 30 days each, touring the entire country to spread their message.
