Students across the country have been given permission to watch the inter-Korean summit from their classrooms on Apr. 27. Superintendents from the Busan City Education Office and the Gwangju City Education Office announced on Apr. 25 that, because of the historic nature of the event, all elementary, middle, and high school students would be able to watch a live broadcast of the summit. Meanwhile, the Incheon branch of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union has called on the city’s Education Office to allow students the opportunity to watch the summit as well, calling it, “a chapter of living peace education.” (by Lee Jeong-a, staff photographer)
